Standing Still (POTD March 13)

The idea of the perfect shot is often what we work towards as photographers, but what does that really mean? Is the perfect shot always made through a balanced exposure, realistic colour, and an exciting story? Many times yes, but that is not always the case, at least from my point of view.

Today's image is an example of a technically imperfect shot, there are blown highlights in the sky, on the road, and the colour is off because I choose not to use the "right" white balance. Sometimes, when you are trying to show the mood or feeling of the moment, a technically perfect shot does not work. Just something to keep in mind for your next photo outing.

  1. Excellent points Rob. Sometimes the most compelling images are technically imperfect images. Your photo is a great example
