Over the last few years I have posted several photos of the progress of the construction of the new Portmann Bridge, which cross the Fraser River and links Surrey BC to Burnaby BC. In recent months the centre section of the bridge was added, and preparation for the final stages of building is now underway. Due to the location the new bridge in relation to the highway, part of the old bridge must be removed prior to completion. This means that the new bridge will be partially open before the project is complete, which will no doubt cause traffic hiccups. The new bridge is currently slated to open sometime early in December this year.
