Fall has quickly descended upon southern British Columbia in the last few weeks. Cooler evenings, shorter daylight, leaves covering the streets and walkways is now common. While leaves have been dropping off of trees for some time now, due to only 4 days with precipitation in the region since the beginning of July, rich fall colours are just starting to appear. I spotted this Great Blue Heron on a leaf covered path, while on a photo walk yesterday afternoon, and knew I needed to make an image.
