First Catch

There is nothing more satisfying than being rewarded for patients. As I noted in last weeks Wednesday Commentary, it is better to find the right place to be, rather than hoping for something to happen by chance. Today's image is another testimony to that fact, I waited in a bird blind for about half an hour, during that time a female Hooded Merganser showed up, looking for something to eat. After a quick dive the Merganser came up with a little fish in it's mouth. The Merganser took several minutes to get the fish down, giving me a great photo opportunity.
