On a cloudy or foggy day images have a tendency to look flat and boring. Part of that comes down to the appearance of the sky, and reduced contrast. That is exactly the situation I faced while visiting Botanical Beach, and most of my trip on Vancouver Island, a few weeks ago. One of the ways to counter the monotone look of images on a cloudy day is to highlight a colour in the image.
