First Lake, Mt Seymour

First Lake on Mt.Seymour is just 1km from the parking lot at the ski facility on the mountain, but the trail is not for everyone. First 100 metres or so could fool anyone into thinking the journey would be a simple walk, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Venturing into the area, during the spring, summer and fall seasons requires being prepared to walk over exposed stumps, rocks and muddy patches (after any significant rainfall) along the way. Wooden foot paths will keep you clear of any heavily wet areas. First Lake itself is half way along the Dog Mt. trail, and the peak itself is an additional 1km from the Lake. To be on the safe side, give yourself 3-4 hours to make this short semi-difficult hike (round trip).
