In May 1911 the Canadian Government launched Parks Canada, the first National Park service in the world, when it opened Banff National Park.
Today Parks Canada is celebrating it's 100th birthday, and the parks under it's direction protect hundreds of thousands of square kilometers of land, lakes and sea. On several occasions I've had the pleasure to visit a number of these beautiful parks (Jasper, Banff, Fundy, Terra Nova, Gros Morne, Glacier, Cape Breton Highlands, Fort Langley, and More) and hope that at some point, many of you will as well!
