Vancouver At Dusk
As I noted yesterday I was taking photos from Cyprus Mt on Sunday evening. The primary reason for this shoot was to get some evening shots of Vancouver. Getting the angle you want from the mountain viewpoint can be difficult because there are some trees that are starting to grow tall enough to obstruct the city. Today's photo shows the Lion's Gate Bridge in the foreground with Stanley Park behind it, then Canada Place, and part of downtown Vancouver. Beyond that is the ever growing urban sprawl.
I took the photo with the Nikon AF-S 300mm F4D IF-ED lens mounted on the Nikon D700. I set the exposure to 3 seconds (under exposed by 1/3ev), at ISO200 with the lens stopped down to F13. The reason for underexposure is to ensure that the city lights are not blown out.
