While I was shooting the flower in today's image this small fly came and landed on it, giving me something to balance the image. I mentioned that the fly balances the image, and I say that because it is a point of interest within the photo. The fly isn't dark, which also helps, because a black fly would not have been as interesting, from my point of view. I was somewhat surprised that the fly stayed there long enough for me to get this shot, because my lens was very close to the flower. In spite of how close I was, the fly did not seem to mind at all. I did not see any indication that the fly was drinking any nectar, so it must just have stopped on the flower for a quick rest.
