Black Capped Chickadee (POTD November 22)

The Black Capped Chickadee is one of the most common small birds you'll find at the George Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary during the late fall and winter. You'll often see them hanging around the bird feeders, or flying from tree to tree, just over your head. Chickadees are an easy subject to find, but getting them to stay still long enough to get good images takes patience, in part due to the size and speed of these little birds. If all you want is images of them at a feeder, or eating out of someones hand, no problem. Getting a photo of one in a natural pose can be a little tougher on the other hand.
