Yellow-headed Blackbird

The Red-Winged Blackbird is one of the most common spices of blackbirds in the greater Vancouver area, but it isn't the only one. The Yellow-headed Blackbird is another member of the family that can be spotted in the region. I first spotted this particular bird at a feeder near the entrance of the trails at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary. As I, and several other photographers, took photos more people arrived and so the bird sought safety in a nearby tree. This created a far more interesting photographic situation, at least from my point of view.
