Last week the pair of Sandhill Cranes at the George Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary had two chicks. One of them drowned on the first day, but the second one is currently alive and well 6 days later.
I had the pleasure of shooting this family of Sandhill Cranes for a few hours this afternoon. For about five minutes the family was very close to the area that has been gated off for the safety of the chick, so I was able to make some images, such as the one above.
