Rapid Departure

In last Friday's post I mentioned that many birds are in the process of nest building, and the Marsh Wren in today's photo is among them. The Marsh Wren usually build their nests just above ground, made of twigs, grass and the fluff on dead reeds. I watched this Wren for over an hour, and in that time it cycled between all of those different items many times. Every few cycles the bird would go around that area, making territorial calls, while watching for rivals and other enemies.
